History of the school

Historical Background and Establishment
Masambong is a historic community that predates the establishment of Quezon City, deriving its name from “Sambong”, a medicinal plant that once grew abundantly in the area. Masambong Elementary School originated as one of five annexes of the San Francisco Elementary School. According to local residents and alumni, the school was officially founded on March 17, 1965.
Campus and Infrastructure
Initially, these annexes operated out of various rented facilities before the school moved to its permanent site in 1972. The school grounds occupy an area of 4,354.5 square meters. The site is bounded by Wayan and Malasimbo Streets to the north, Balingasa Creek to the west, and Del Monte Avenue to the south.
Over the years, the campus has undergone significant infrastructure development. The original pre-fabricated structures, which contained 12 classrooms, have been replaced by modern facilities, including:
Belmonte Hall: A four-storey building with 11 classrooms.
DPWH building: A three-storey structure with 14 classrooms.
Calalay Building: A four-storey structure with 8 classrooms.
Community Scope and Leadership
The school serves as the primary educational institution for several catchment areas, including Masambong, Sto. Domingo, Talayan, Balingasa, the Kaingin Bukid section of Barangay Apolonio Samson, and Manresa. Since its establishment in 1965, the school has been led by a series of dedicated principals, including Magdalena Perez, Vicitacion Bayan, Luna Z. Dua, Reynaldo F. San Diego, Clarita M. Pinili, Editha J. Mendoza, Danilo Zamora, Winefreda Glino, Petronila Garcia, Escarlita B. Bandong, Efren R. Garvida, Lea G. Talosig, Pedro J. Nuestro, Juan Amormio D. Cabardo, Eleanor I. Flores, Cynthia G. Gomez, and, at present, Hellen F. Hilario.

Kasaysayan at Pagkatatag
Campus at Imprastraktura
